Noble were great heroes. They allowed the Halo events to unfold by getting Cortana to the Pillar of Autumn. The most heroic wasn't Carter it was Noble 6, he delayed them long enough to let the Pillar of Autumn leave the planet. What Halsey said is a lie, the Helmet is still there.
you're damn right mate. they were heroes each in their own right, and i mourned six's death as if he were one of my squadmates. and, he was, in a sense. i saw the war between the covies and the UNSC through his eyes, and i feel we're connected somehow. we're both the first to drop, and the last to leave. and while he may be a marine, and i served in her majesty's military, i still feel the two of us would've been brothers in arms indefinitely. he who dares, wins, six. you will not be forgotten.
The war is still going on and I would fight to the bitter end just for Six and Noble's legacy. The UNSC can win, for the Human spirit will always remain and hope, the last element left in Pandora's box, will never be given up. The human spirit cannot, I repeat CANNOT be contained. By Covies or by Forerunner alike. They say they hold the mantle of responsibility? I say that we do.
indeed it is, and i'd fight tooth and nail, gun and blade to keep my squad alive. there is no greater honor than to fight by a spartan's side, that much is certain. whether it's NOBLE team, or john 117, i'd fight alongside them until the bitter end myself. but the arbiter proved that not all of the covenant are truly evil. they're merely following orders, and sometimes, orders change. and the orderers become your enemies because of it. so we must not hate the sangheili. instead, we must respect them. the loyalists that still ally themselves with the covenant are brave, there is no denying that, but they are also foolish. they blindly follow the prophets' will, like lambs to slaughter. but, that doesn't mean we can slaughter them just as blindly. we must give them an honourable death, so that they may respect us in turn, in the afterlife. remember jun's words 'i kill the enemy, but do not hate them.' and take these words to heart. for they ring true, no matter what may come of the war.
The prophets are fools. For they believe that the Halo rings will bring salvation. It will only bring destruction. For they are the ones who order the Covenant forces to do their whim. To fight alongside a Spartan for us is like fighting next to a god, a Super-Soldier capable of combat efficiency like no other. For I would gladly undergo the pain in real life to become a Spartan or at least have the honour of fighting alongside one.
indeed, it's rather sad that the prophets believe themselves to be instruments to their 'gods', when they themselves are are fools. their religion is bullshit, but so long as they supply me with covies to kill, i'm as happy as a clam. because those covies that stayed on, they're no smarter than fools. and herds of fools must be thinned. indeed, my enhanced senses of smell, and my gut feeling that danger is coming don't amount to what spartans can do, what they can feel. to become one would no doubt be unbearably painful, but the result would be well worth it, given you'd be a super soldier able to reduce any enemy resistance to ash. but at the same time, you'd be used as a puppet, forced to carry out orders given to you by those who would send you to your inevitable doom. and i don't know about you, but i disobey orders if it feels like if the conflict with my current physical condition, especially if it feels like a suicide mission.
